Flexible Plywood Full Board
- 5 mm – lightweight panels and internal joinery
- 8 mm – backs, partitions and general interiors
*Please note: Full boards come with a raw edge – they are designed to be trimmed before use.
Flexible Plywood Full Board — bend it, shape it, make it flow
Choose flexible plywood full board when your design needs smooth curves and tidy radii. The sheet’s thin, cross-banded plies allow controlled bending along the grain, so you can form curved walls, cabinets, counters and displays with fewer joints and less fuss. Because the faces sand smoothly, finishing with paint, veneer or laminate stays simple.
Sizes & thicknesses
We stock full boards in 2440 × 1220 mm (and the rotated 1220 × 2440 mm). For tighter or broader curves, pick the thickness that suits the job: 5 mm or 8 mm.
Key benefits
- Bends cleanly along long- or cross-grain, so curves look consistent.
- Lightweight yet durable, which makes handling, trimming and fixing easier.
- Smooth faces ready to paint, veneer or laminate without heavy prep.
- Fast fabrication: large boards reduce joints and sanding time.
Typical uses
- Curved furniture: concave/convex doors, counters and reception desks
- Interior fit-outs: feature walls, columns, arches and soffits
- Vehicles & marine interiors: vans, campervans and boat linings
- Events & retail: exhibition sets, POS displays and partitions
How to plan your curve (quick tips)
First, choose thickness by radius: 5 mm forms tighter curves; 8 mm suits gentle arcs. Next, bend with the grain direction indicated on the product page, and laminate multiple layers for strength when needed. Finally, glue to a former or substrate and clamp until fully cured. Always test with a small piece before committing to a large radius.
Finishing & care
Before coating, lightly sand the faces. Then apply paint, oil, lacquer or laminate. For the best edges, seal exposed ply and consider a small round-over. Because this material is designed for interiors, use marine or exterior plywood for wet or structural applications when required—see Marine Plywood Full Board or a standard Birch Plywood Full Board for non-curved parts.
FAQs
Is flexi ply waterproof?
No. It’s for interior use. For moisture-heavy areas, choose marine plywood and seal thoroughly.
What radius can I achieve?
It depends on thickness, curve direction and lay-up. As a rule, 5 mm bends tighter than 8 mm. Always test a sample
first.
Can I screw and glue on curves?
Yes. Use a suitable adhesive and backing former; fix with screws or brads while the glue cures.
